Parcel Delivery and Courier Services of the International

I’m asking about DPD in particular as they have a range of products (pre 10:30am, pre 12pm, Next Day, Economy, pre 10:30am and 12pm Saturday, Sunday), four sorting hubs located fairly close to each other and an International Gateway here in the UK and over 80 delivery depots. From what I understand: Parcels are collected directly from major customers using DPD lorries. For small businesses and individuals, the van driver will collect the parcel from your address or from a ParcelShop which will be taken to the delivery depot. Is this sorted at all at the delivery depot or is this simply put on the lorry back to a hub for sorting? What dictates which parcel goes to each hub? They are all ...

I’m sharing this as a warning and to understand if others have faced something similar. On Jan 2, 2026, I booked Uber Porter for a store pickup in Bengaluru. The driver collected the parcel, the trip was marked completed, and the delivery fee was charged. However, the parcel never reached me. Within hours, the driver became completely unreachable. It would take a very specific set of circumstances and is probably very rare, but is it possible for an address (residential, not a large commercial premises) to receive as many as four of five deliveries in a day? 1) Special Delivery By 9am 2) Post and packets 3) DPR 4) LAT 5) ParcelForce Could the above ever happen or are some of those deliveries always combined now? I guess technically you could have letters and a parcel delivered separately if the van was shared and one postman delivered letters and the second a parcel?

So I ordered an item worth 200 on cod, and it was delivered today. Only my grandmother was at home, the guy came and gave the parcel and went away without asking for money. Should I contact customer service about it? It's a very small amount, and I'd rather not have the delivery guy compensate for this out of his salary. Help me out, what should I do?
