I receive quite a lot of home deliveries, Amazon, Evri, Royal Mail etc. Couriers regularly leave parcels either inside my wheelie bin or next to it, down the side of my house. Being in the bin keeps them dry, but it’s obviously not ideal, and next to it means they get wet. Mostly. I’ve bought a plastic storage box (about half the size of a wheelie bin) to keep by my front door, so there’s a dry, obvious place for parcels. My concern is liability. If I put up a sign saying something like “Parcel box available” or similar, could that be treated as me designating it as a “safe place”? I ordered a mattress from an online UK store on thursday. It was meant to be delivered on Friday. My order has been stuck at the delivery depot since Friday. I paid for one-day delivery on Thursday, but for some reason it was delayed and didn’t arrive on Friday as expected. It still hasn’t arrived. I called today to ask about my parcel, and the representative said he would report the issue, then ended the call. After that, I tried rearranging the delivery for Tuesday using the red button on the tracking page, but I’m not sure if that means it will actually arrive tomorrow. So I won't say what the item is as I'm still hoping to get it (wishful thinking I know) but I ordered a fairly expensive item that was something I was genuinely excited to get as it would have been a massive help.
