I recently purchased a mountain bike frame from a company in Germany. This is my first time importing to the United States. The process went smoothly until the package arrived at the border. I then got an email from the seller saying that DHL notified them that they have changed their policy and can no longer act as the broker for shipments entering the U.S. The seller then told me that I will most definitely need to appoint a customs broker if I want the package delivered. I have not received any information from either U.S Customs or DHL notifying me about this issue and telling me to appoint a customs broker which seems very strange to me.
