Free delivery, UK only Why do so many people do contactless/leave at door?11h agoUpdate: I appreciate all the answers, some gave me a good chuckle. Just a curiosity question, but why do so many people choose contactless/ leave at door on delivery orders? I work in a pizza shop and just picked up dashing for a little side money, and the amount of deliveries I see there and on DD, that say leave at door, is surprising to me for a couple reasons. One being that I'm in New England and it is cold and sometimes raining, I wouldn't want my food getting left in the cold or rain. Second is the people who say that their food always goes to the wrong house, if your food is constantly sent to the wrong place wouldn't you want some confirmation you get your food?... The documentary revisits the 1993 allegations made by Jordan Chandler but does so in a manner that arguably lacks openness and balance. Commentary is provided exclusively by Jackson supporters, rather than by neutral observers offering an objective analysis of the facts. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the film makes no attempt to explore the dangers associated with grown men inviting unrelated children into their bedrooms for one-on-one sleepovers. Instead, it targets the Chandler family—particularly Jordan’s father, Evan... Systemic Discrimination in Legal Sector1d agoI am campaigning for a formal parliamentary inquiry to address what I believe constitutes systemic discrimination embedded deep within the structure of legal qualification and recruitment in England and Wales against neurodivergent people (protected under the Equality Act 2010). Areas for inquiry: 1. Qualification and Assessment The SQE in its current form disproportionately disadvantages neurodivergent candidates. Timed, high-pressure, standardised testing does not measure legal ability. It measures the capacity to perform under unfair conditions that are inherently hostile to autistic and ADHD minds. Reasonable adjustments as currently offered are cosmetic. Extra time does not address t... I know we all love the "Architect" story and the 2024 nostalgia, but the 2026 IPL season has been an absolute car crash so far. His IPL 2026 stats from the first two games: * **vs MI:** 0/48 (4.0) - Economy: 12.00 * **vs SRH:** 0/31 (2.0)- Economy: 15.50 At the same time we also saw him getting smashed at the t20 World Cup. Look at the example below: * **Semi-Final vs England:** 1/64 (4.0). Literally one of the most expensive spells in T20WC history. Buttler and Jacks made him look like a net bowler. * **Final vs NZ:** 1/39 (3.0). Another 13.00 RPO performance when we needed him to squeeze. It looks like the Ajantha Mendis cycle all over again here. Video ... Extra! Extra! 4/5, Jess Craven's Weekly Good News2d agoHi, all, and happy Sunday. Also happy Easter to all who celebrate! Who could I use for transporting a car bonnet & bumper from England to Scotland?2d agoNot sure if I’m asking in the right place, but I’m looking for a courier who could deliver a car bonnet and bumper from the south of England up to Scotland within the next two weeks. I’ve had a look on Shiply, but I’m a bit unsure as I’ve seen quite a few independent couriers with bad reviews for missed deliveries or cancelled jobs. Can anyone recommend someone reliable who could help with this? Thanks in advance. You may know these medications as liraglutide, semaglutide, tirzepatide, Ozempic, Saxenda, Wegovy, or Mounjaro. There is currently limited knowledge on how people experience using GLP-1s for weight loss, and how these may inform the future delivery of GLP-1s in general practice settings. We are currently looking to interview people who have accessed the medications through the NHS to learn more about their experiences and perspectives. This is quite a limited pool of people at the moment, so if this is you please do reach out! Taking part involves a rem... Retailer changed delivery terms retroactively without consent; refusing refund citing 'no refund' policy.2d agoOrdered a product from a US-based company on 3 March to ship to England, United Kingdom. No specific delivery date was given at point of sale, which under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 defaults to 30 days. It has now been 31 days and nothing has arrived. During this time the company also changed their delivery terms retroactively without notifying me or asking for my consent, which is what prompted me to request a refund in the first place. I sent two emails, both citing relevant UK consumer law, one requesting a refund and a follow up giving them the chance to resolve it or I would escalate. They refused both times citing a no re... 📢 Weekly news round up 05.04.262d ago**New Crisis and Resilience Fund launched** From 1 April the new £1 billion Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF), has gone live. It’s funded by the DWP and delivered at a local level by Councils. The CRF replaces the Household Support Fund and Discretionary Housing Payments in England and incorporates crisis help and longer-term resilience support making it easier for individuals and families to access help when they need it. For the first time ever, multi-year funding is in place, confirmed through to 31 March 2029. This ends the annual cliff-edge funding cycle and gives councils the long-term certainty they need to plan services that make a lasting difference in their communities... What do I do about a manager from ****?2d agoHi everyone. So for reference I’m a supervisor for a semi-large company in England. It’s just mind numbing retail while I put myself through the last stretch of my studies. My manager only hires students and young people to work there even though she has repeatedly expressed how little she likes working with younger staff. I’ve worked here for two years and I’ve never really had a problem because of my position. Recently, my boss has flipped on her staff more than she ever has. She refuses to close the store even though her contract states she has to, so she leaves us supervisors to close on her behalf. Then, she used to open the next morning and watch the previous day’s CCTV so ... Remembering Pip Pyle (1950–2006): The Rhythmic Backbone, the Groove That Held Canterbury Together3d agoBorn on April 4, 1950, in Sawbridgeworth, England, Pip Pyle was a key figure in the Canterbury scene and a driving force behind some of its most distinctive bands. Starting incredibly young, he co-founded Delivery at just 15 alongside Phil Miller. By 1971, he was already in demand—Robert Wyatt brought him in to record with Daevid Allen on Banana Moon, leading to a short but important stint with Gong, where he contributed to Camembert Electrique. He soon reunited with familiar faces, helping evolve Delivery into Hatfield and the North—one of the defining bands of the genre, especially after Dave Stewart joined in 1973. Throughout the mid-to-late ’70s, Pyle’s résumé expanded rapid... A Review of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003), Dir. Peter Weir3d ago***'This is a ship of war, and I will grind whatever grist the mill requires in order to fulfil my duty.'*** —Captain Jack Aubrey Once we have read their orders in the titles, we fly over the HMS Surprise in silence, the Atlantic Ocean engulfing every millimetre of space around it. At once the viewer becomes conscious of the solemnity of the ship's mission and even more so the dignity of the film to come. Though score and soundtrack do exist in the cinematic makeup of Jack Aubrey's story as captain of the Surprise, never have they been used with such precision as they are in this film; the amount of relative silence that exists in this film is a wonder—a masterclass...
