I’ve put together a quick technical breakdown of the Land and Air routes to help you plan your logistics. # Land Freight (The Volume Route) Land freight remains the most cost-effective way to move bulk stock or furniture. * **The Route:** UAE (Ghuwaifat) → Saudi Arabia → Jordan (Nasib/Jaber) → Lebanon. * **LTL vs FTL:** If you’re a small business, look for LTL (Less than Truckload). You share space and split the cost, which is essential for maintaining margins. * **Wait Times:** Expect 10... ODFL, SAIA: 7.2/10 BULLISH LTL Freight Inflection Trade 20261d agoWTI crude dropped $8.09 to $90.99/bbl on Apr 14 following Iran ceasefire progress — ODFL and SAIA publish fuel surcharge tables with a 2–4 week lag to DOE weekly diesel prices, meaning Q2 cost relief is already baked in before management confirms it. CHRW at $168.51 is 15.7% below its 52-week high and at 70.2% of its 52-week range — versus JBHT at 94.4% — offering the clearest asymmetry in brokerage ahead of a freight volume recovery. The hard catalyst is ODFL/SAIA Q2 earnings in late July; the soft catalyst is weekly DAT spot rates and the Cass Freight Shipments Index sustaining above their 12-month rolling averages. Yield curve at +52bps (normal growth signal), HY spreads tight at ... When customers face surprise storage fees, brokerage charges, and provincial taxes at the door, it leads to refused deliveries and high return costs. Transitioning to a Non-Resident Importer (NRI) model allows you to act as the "local" seller, clearing customs in bulk and delivering a seamless experience. **1. Anyone using a 3PL for oversized / crated freight (16ft crates, LTL outbound)? Looking for recommendations4d agoAnyone using a 3PL for oversized / crated freight (16ft crates, LTL outbound)? Looking for recommendations4d agoI'm trying to solve a 3PL problem that standard fulfillment providers just aren't built for. Our product ships in wooden crates that are roughly more than 16ft long and 200–400 lbs each. Standard 3PLs are a non-starter — we need floor stacking, forklift handling, and LTL outbound per individual order. We're based in SoCal and import from overseas via the Port of LA/Long Beach, so proximity to the port is a plus. Has anyone worked with any of these — or know of others that actually handle this type of oversized crated freight well? Any experience or recommendations appreciated. Happy to share what I find for others in a similar boat. I'm here to talk about FWRD, a company I've been trading for the last few years and just bought shares / calls in. **Background:** Legacy Forward Air is an LTL (less-than truckload) carrier that has historically owned the airport-to-airport trucking market with \~7% share of the "expedited" LTL market. Their customers are freight forwarders (i.e. moving cargo from Asia to the US) who pay FWRD to move the freight from airport to DCs before ultimately moving to its end destination. Prior to 2023, FWRD consistently had best in class margins / operating metrics and traded at the high-end range of EBITDA multiples vs LTL comps (... Looking for some Resume Help [5 YOE, Unemployed, HR, United States] [N/A]9d agoHello! I've been working in HR since college and my recent HRBP role was eliminated, which ***** since it was only about 5ish months. I've updated my resume but my big concern is the most recent role. I'm planning on targeting generalist/specialist roles since most of my experience is there but I don't want my prior role to make it seem like I'm waiting for the next senior position. I've mainly had contract roles and was at a prior role fulltime for over 2 years. I technically have more experience from 2020 but it was a role I took on for a year before needing to move and not able to commute to that location anymore. Don't want it to seem like I'm jo... Saia upgraded by Wolfe Research9d agoDo LTL carriers get upset when brokers don’t share the shippers contact info10d agoI’m a broker who does a lot of LTL and these are a few things I’ve noticed. If I put my own phone number they don’t show up for pick up for so many days that I have to cancel. If I put my number on the receivers end they will google the address find the phone number of the business located there and call them directly. And if the most recent thing that happen is a brought my customers freight to my cross dock to send it as a partial I had 2 deliveries on this piece but my other piece got canceled so I just used the LTL carrier I always use for these particular loads but I did 2 different shipments. They picked up the first one and they haven’t picked up the other since Wednesday.... LTL vs FTL - which actually ends up cheaper in real-world shipping?10d agoI’ve been digging into freight costs lately and realized a lot of businesses pick the wrong mode between LTL and FTL. In some cases, people are paying for full trucks when LTL would cost way less. In others, they’re forcing bigger loads into LTL and getting hit with delays, reclass fees, or damage issues. I broke down a detailed comparison with real scenarios (cost, transit time, when each makes sense). Sharing here in case it helps anyone Curious how you guys decide, do you go purely by cost or factor in transit time and handling risk too?
