[CA] Shipping Project Inquiry1d agoHi! I am looking to speak with businesses that ship products via truckload (LTL or FTL) and primarily communicate with their network of carriers and freight brokers through email. I am currently working on a project designed to centralize all shipment data in one place so it is no longer scattered or lost in email threads. I need help determining if this is an actual problem or not that Logistics Managers/owners companies are experiencing. A typical scenario I’m focused on is when a manufacturer needs to move a load and sends an email blast to their private network of carriers or brokers with shipment details to request quotes or book transportation. They then receive multiple rate re... Shipping alternatives?1d agoI'm moving from New Orleans to Seattle in a month. I was planning to drive while towing my stuff in a 5x8 Uhaul trailer. I have about 150 cubic feet of stuff to move and this seems like the most cost effective method. I've looked at PODS, UPack, and Ubox and all are at least $1500 more than driving while towing. Are there any other methods which might work that are less expensive? I was thinking LTL freight, but I don't have a dock. I've heard of truck shares, but I don't really have the space for a trailer to be parked in my neighborhood. If there aren't any other options, that's all good. I'm just trying to see if there's anything I've h... Reefer LTL OB Chicago to Anywhere2d agoHey! What does a trucking company do in transportation and what should people know before choosing one?5d agoA trucking company plays a major role in moving goods from one place to another, whether it’s within a city, across provinces, or across the border. They help businesses transport products safely and on time. Here’s a simple breakdown of how trucking companies work and what to consider before selecting one: **Full-truckload (FTL) shipping:** Some companies offer FTL services, where a single truck carries only one shipment directly to its destination. **Less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping:** If the cargo is smaller, LTL helps combine multiple shipments in one truck to reduce cost. **Route planning:** Trucking companies plan efficient routes so deliveries reach their location on sc... How is getting freight out going?8d agoEnded up spending way too much time getting the stocking stuffer items where they’re supposed to be and sorted. But we were working on getting freight Christmas and gift stuff out. Just a general how is it going? Any positive you want to share? I am a New Broker And I need help.10d agoHey Everyone, I am new freight broker and having a hard time pricing skids for LTL shipments for my clients. I want to know does anyone have a Pricing Matrix? I want to be able to quote LTL freight quick and easy for my clients. Any advice would help. Thanks! How do I get out?10d agoI've worked in logistics since I was 17. I am now 32. I started off in truckload brokerage then transitioned to a freight forwarder where I also honed my skills in domestic intermodal and LTL. I then focused on port drayage and worked that from the asset side of things and rand a 32 driver fleet. Then moved back to the broker side and developed a drayage division from the ground up. I am now back in domestic intermodal freight with an IMC. All roles have been rooted heavily in ops, not sales. I AM TIRED. I am burnt out. I need to make a change. I have no idea what to pivot to for a new career. I'm a very talented operator and can figure out just about any job. I have great custom... Delete if not allowed.12d agoHello, I am a new carrier with a 2020 kenworth 26ft class b box truck with lift-gate locatedn in the Minneapolis area looking for brokers to work with. I have been doing regional and Ltl with a courier for 2 years until I seperated with them to do my own authority. I would like to stick with local or regional if I'm able to but can also do OTR if needed. Authority is a month old but I have experience on what I'm doing. I am up to date with my paperwork, dot inspection, bco-3, mcs-150, IRP plates, IFTA, ect. So I and my truck is reliable on moving freight. If you are interested in working with me it would be great. Thank you. User-Friendly LTL Rate Comparison Tool for Small-Medium Businesses12d agoFound [a helpful solution](https://greenriverls.com/get-a-quote/) for SMBs struggling with freight quotes. [BC] Third-Party shipping (domestic freight) Insurance15d agoI've been doing some extensive googling looking for a third-party insurer to provide one-off insurance for high-value LTL freight shipments (in this case, a $40k shipment from Edmonton, AB to B.C.). I'm starting to see search results for what I think are fake companies (among others, ShipSimple dot ca, and Railgateway dot ca). I suspect they're fakes because I cannot find reviews anywhere, the physical address is a building that has "virtual offices," and when I submit a question by email, they called me back super promptly (but don't email back), and seem willing to waive all the requirements they otherwise list on their website, and really just want that credi... Weight limits for non-CDL and what trailer should I be looking for?15d agoFor legal reasons not driving related, my partner can't get a CDL for 18-24 months so we will be starting out non-CDL. I have a 2010 dodge Ram 3500 4x4 SRW, GVRW 10,100#. Curb weight with both of us and a full load of fuel should be about 8100# after the sleeper conversion. Michigan allows me to choose my GCVRW for the truck will set it at 26,000#. We live and will be based near, 25 miles or so, of Kalamazoo, MI, and expect to run regional out to 500-600 miles one way. The load boards I've been watching seem to show quite a bit of short haul, less than 250 miles, light weight freight, less than 7500#, in Northern Indiana. I've already made contact with a shipper near me, a... Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
