Latest Community Discussions About NM FreightLooking for Job!1d agoHi everyone, Are you looking for a detail-oriented VA who can work in a fast-paced environment? You might be looking for me. I have extensive experience working as a Logistics Dispatcher and Customer Support in the logistics industry. I am knowledgeable in LTL, FTL, freight coordination, document handling, dispatching of trucks or techs, CRM management, and TMS. I previously supported two of the biggest names in the logistics industry, which are UPS and Hub Group. Previously, I worked as a Real Estate VA/Administrative VA doing land acquisitions, property research, property management, campaign management (direct mail, mass texting, and cold calling), lead generation, comparable sales, a... US Domestic Truck BOL2d agoHas anyone created or found a typical truck BOL in Cargowise for US Dometic LTL/FTL moves? I know there is a D/O, just looking for something that everyone uses in the US. 91-year-old LTL carrier just shut down on a Sunday with zero warning. 230+ drivers found out via text.3d agoStandard Forwarding Freight is done. December 29th—a Sunday—they pulled the plug after 91 years in business. The Teamsters got the same notice everyone else did. Their statement: "This news was completely unexpected. Standard Forwarding had never previously communicated any challenges or difficulties to our union." Here's the backstory that makes this worse: DHL sold them to Sakaem Holdings in January 2025. Sakaem is connected to the family that ran Jack Cooper, the car hauler that collapsed in February after losing Ford and GM. Same people. Same result. FreightWaves' Craig Fuller pointed out the warning signs were in the public data: old equipment, high OOS rate... Looking for guidance4d agoHi everyone, I’ve been working at a global appliance manufacturer for about two years, and my role has evolved across transportation operations and freight audit. Because there was a lot of overlap between the two, I’ve combined the experience under one title: Logistics and Financial Operations Analyst. I was told by my superiors that this is okay as well, they are ready to back me up on this if that is how I want to phrase it. In my first year, I was mostly in transportation. I handled FTL, LTL, and parcel shipments across the U.S. between multiple regional warehouses, covering both collect and prepaid freight. That meant routing, load tracking, issue resolution, and a lot of coordi... FedEx Freight & Oversized Shipping on Shopify5d agohttps://preview.redd.it/46hyl03poiag1.png?width=1400&format=png&auto=webp&s=c8f1759757f51c7f7911b0823761f215be58bc1e As Shopify stores grow and start selling larger products, the need for freight shipping on Shopify is increasing. Items like furniture, gym equipment, bulk cartons, and heavy machinery often exceed standard parcel limits, making oversize shipping a necessity rather than an option. Shipping heavy goods is not always simple. Shopify sellers must handle weight restrictions, large dimensions, special packaging, freight classifications, and added services like liftgate or residential delivery. Without a reliable freight solution, these challenges can quick... Should I switch?6d agoCurrently making $32.75/hr flat rate for 10 hours a day. 5 days a week local. Im paid for 10 hours but 3-4 hours is me on my steamdeck or on my phone. Same customer everyday, same dock. Daytona is hiring for 35.50 a hour and with overtime after 40. How's LTL? Do y'all have the same old route everyday or is everyday something different. Fast pace environment? Lots of downtime or no? problems to get a Freight Economy LTL quote Mex to US6d agoHi, I am trying to get a freight economy shipment quote from FedEx, and customer service is telling me that there is no ground LTL service, only (much more expensive) Air Express? That sounds not right, but I want to check to be sure. The air express quote is really expensive, over $1000 (value of goods is $2100) for 7 boxes that weigh around 240 pounds in total. It's leaving from Oaxaca, if that helps. I have a business account, so that quote is with the discount. 🇨🇦 Looking for Canada domestic shipping & 🇺🇸 US/Canada cross-border logistics (Montreal → Amazon C...13d agoHi everyone, I’m looking for advice from people in logistics / cross-border e-commerce. I have about **1 cubic meter (≈ 1 CBM)** of goods currently in **Montreal**. I need to ship part of it to **Amazon warehouses in Canada** and part to **New Jersey, USA**. Are there any shipping options that are **reasonably priced and reliable/stable** (e.g., LTL/parcel/freight forwarder/3PL)? Any recommended carriers or services, and what should I watch out for (fees, brokerage, duties, delivery appointments, etc.)? Insight on Being a Yard Jockey Long-Term?16d agoI was trying to get out of trucking because I'm tired of dealing with trucking companies and I don't want to be OTR at all anymore, but today a company I had applied for several weeks ago finally got back to me about a yard jockey position. $25/hr (including the overnight shift differential: the base pay is $23/hr), overtime after 40 hours, and consistent schedule. No shuttle driving, no touch freight, three other yard dogs on site besides myself. Even though I want to get out of trucking, I think this actually might be sustainable as a long-term job. However, I really need this to be it, so I want to make sure this is something I can do for the next several years. I am so tired ... The wiggly ducks17d agoHow much does a triple trailer driver make ? Like im sitting here at fedex waiting for my trailer to be loaded and seen this fellow trucker couple three trailers and it’s just too much physical labor for what pay difference ? \+ how hard is it to drive these ? Cuz im actually planning in the near future to move into SLC , UT and find me such LTL gig to drive triples Best route to get cheap LTL rates?17d agoEdit: Please for the love of god read the post before commenting. I do actually understand the concept of taxes and tariffs. I’m not going to lose my life savings over an $800 shipment. —————- I’m about to start shipping some outdoor equipment from China and resell them in the US. Dims are a little longer than a standard pallet and 500ish lbs per shipment. Super low volume, like 1 every couple months. I’m wondering if the best way to get the cheapest LTL rates is directly through LTL carriers or will brokers like P1 and Global Tranz be cheaper with their wholesale prices + margin? Supplier is doing ocean to their warehouse in LA. My plan is to schedule a pick up from their... The best moving companies for heavy equipment: Who actually shows up with the right gear17d agoIf you’re planning a heavy-equipment move, there’s usually a moment when it sinks in that this isn’t a standard relocation. Couches and boxes are one thing. Industrial machinery, construction equipment, or commercial-grade gear? That’s another thing altogether. Between weight limits, permits, specialized trailers, and rigging requirements, heavy-equipment moves tend to involve more planning and more risk than people expect going in. So here’s a breakdown of moving companies that are commonly used for heavy machinery and specialized equipment, along with what they’re best suited for. The goal isn’t to crown a single “best” option, but to help you narrow down which type ... Be better not bitter18d agoA lot of these older guys complain because it’s not the good ol days. But they didn’t changes with the times. They thought it was going to be great forever. Didn’t prepare. Now they’re trying to discourage the next generation from Trucking. To me LTL is the BEST route to go for rookies, or even veterans honestly. If you’re spending weeks on the road & aren’t grossing 100k then what’s the point? You’re away from your family making peanuts. It’s not worth it. Almost all the LTL linehaul positions make 100k+. Most local city LTL drivers are making $32+ & don’t have to sleep at truck stops. LTLs also have dock to driver programs & they’ll pay for you... How do I escalate my missing Passport/Visa to higher management.19d agoI need to find out how to escalate the mishandling of my passport/US visa that I sent for Stamping on November 20. There's been no update on tracking, and the lost and found department told me to file a claim, but the claims department says I can't without an invoice for the items in the shipment. I'm stuck in this country with no help from Purolator. How do I get this to higher management? [3 YoE, Unemployed, Operations Manager/Logistics, United States]23d agoCompany recently got bought out and became a "Direct-to-stores" model. Have always stuck with Manufacturing/Warehouse/Logistics jobs and am looking to see what can be improved. Thanks in advance! Resume feedback24d agoHi All, I am having difficulty getting calls back on mt applications. I have changed my resume based on some AI feedback, if any managers out there have a minute to review the new version, I would appreciate it very much. If the picture does not work, I can try to upload a PDF. Thanks in advance. https://preview.redd.it/ovzrldgomn6g1.png?width=724&format=png&auto=webp&s=4642f151e383dd0c007e7f280bccf615a28cc1d6 Logistics work from home26d agoFor people who have years of experience in this industry. I want your insights on this roles pros and cons, best role to take, experience with roles, and adviced. Do you actually like driving?26d agoI’m a newer driver, I pedal freight for an LTL. My company paid me while I was in CDL school and also paid for all the fees and endorsements at the DMV. I’m home every night and I normally work between 8-10 hours a day. I also make decent money. BUT I DONT LIKE IT. I wake up everyday thinking **** this **** I don’t wanna do it. Does it get any better? When did driving become enjoyable?
