Should a work for TForceFreight or FedEx Freight

5h ago

I got a job offer from both Tforce and FedEx Freight as a city driver, and not sure which one to choose. TForceFreight starts at 33hr, overtime after 8hr a day, and is a union job. FedEx Freight starts at 31.26hr, overtime after 40hr/week, no union but great online reviews. I'm used to LTL work, i worked at old dominion before. Just never worked the dock before.

Help! How to decide job offers in logistics given I'm a new undergrad?

1d ago

Hi, reposting here because I'd like to hear your thoights as experts! I'm graduating undergrad in econ soon from Erasmus Uni Rotterdam. I got 2 offers from Dutch logistic companies. I'm into the transport industry and planning to work for 2-3 years before doing a master in a related degree, maybe in NL or other EU country. I plan to use zoekjaar visa and then have my employee sponsor me for the 2nd and 3rd year. As this is my first time entering the work life, I would appreciate any insight into what factors I should look for when I'm in the stage of getting a job offer, as well as how I would know which company is better for me and the future me. \\\*\\\*\\\*Job 1\\\*...

Trying to figure out what the most reliable freight option is for someone just starting out carriers vs brokers?

2d ago

I’m pretty new to shipping products and trying to figure out what people actually use and trust long term. We make glass figurines from scratch, so everything is pretty fragile. We’re starting to get orders from different countries now, and I don’t want to mess this part up early on. I keep seeing mixed opinions on LTL/FTL carriers and brokers. Some people say just go straight with carriers like FedEx Freight, Old Dominion, Estes, etc., but others say service can be really inconsistent depending on the route or terminal. For someone still small and not shipping huge volumes, is it actually better to deal directly with carriers, or use a broker/platform that compares rates (like Frei...

Looking for advice: importing teff flour from Ethiopia through Port of Oakland + customs broker + food-grade 3PL

2d ago

Hi everyone, I’m in the early stages of starting a small food import/distribution business in California and I’m looking for advice on finding the right customs broker and possibly referrals to food-grade 3PL/warehousing partners. Product: teff flour for human consumption Origin: Ethiopia Destination: California Oakland Open to (Long Beach, or Los Angeles as well) Shipment format: 20 ft ocean container Approx. weight: 44,092 lbs Packaging: 50 lb wholesale bags Inbound format: floor-loaded, not palletized Expected volume: initially 1 container every 2 months, possibly growing to 1 container/month Business model: B2B wholesale distribution to restaurants, bakeries...

Any SMBs here spending $1k+/week on shipping?

2d ago

If your company is spending $500-$1,000+/week on shipping and you haven’t looked at Worldwide Express lately, it might be worth a conversation. We’re the only UPS partner focused on SMBs, so we’re able to offer aggressive UPS pricing while still using the same UPS network and technology. We also work with most major LTL carriers for freight. A lot of companies we talk to are surprised by how much they can save without changing much operationally. If you want me to take a look at your current rates and see if there’s anything there, feel free to DM me. The only caveat is that we cannot work with shippers who primarily ship with UPS directly through something like WorldShip or UPS...

How are you handling LTL/freight shipping on Shopify?

3d ago

I’m looking for advice from sellers who rely on LTL/freight to ship their products. My current setup is a mess. I’m manually quoting freight costs, and sometimes get it wrong. Shipping rates are squeezing my profit margins. And I’m dealing with cart abandonment due to the pricing accuracy issues. Can anyone recommend a tool that integrates directly with Shopify, automates freight quoting, and helps compare carriers without relying on spreadsheets and emails? Hoping there’s a single tool that could solve all these issues.

How to Set Up TForce Freight Shipping in WooCommerce ?

Missing dimensions, incorrect freight class assignments, or improper NMFC codes can lead to reclassification charges and inaccurate checkout rates. Using the [PH TForce Freight Shipping Plugin for WooCommerce](https://www.pluginhive.com/product/woocommerce-tforce-freight-shipping-plugin-with-print-label/), the setup workflow is fairly streamlined, such as: • Configuring freight products with dimensions and freight class https://preview.redd.it/v7m...

What Is TForce Freight and How Does It Work with WooCommerce?

6d ago

Most WooCommerce shipping plugins are designed for parcel shipments, but things change completely when you start shipping products that weigh 150 lbs or more. That’s where TForce Freight comes in. TForce Freight (formerly UPS Freight) is an LTL freight carrier designed for heavy and oversized shipments across the U.S. and Canada. Instead of paying for an entire truck, your shipment shares trailer space with other freight, making it much more practical for WooCommerce stores selling furniture, machinery, gym equipment, large home goods, and similar products. TForce offers multiple freight services including: • Standard LTL Freight • Guaranteed LTL Freight • High-volume freigh...

Shipping platform in Queretaro, options for B2B freight, not just parcel delivery?

6d ago

Most of the content I find when searching for a shipping platform in Queretaro is aimed at e-commerce parcel shipping. But I need something different: B2B freight management for palletized shipments going to industrial clients across the Bajio corridor. We're talking LTL and FTL loads, not individual packages. I need a platform that can quote multiple carriers in real time, generate waybills and customs documents automatically, and give my clients a tracking link that actually updates. The aerospace and automotive suppliers in Queretaro have specific documentation requirements and most consumer-grade shipping platforms in Queretaro have no idea how to handle that side of thing...

Amazon now offers end-to-end logistics. Ocean freight, customs, warehousing, last mile, LTL — all under one roof.

Amazon now offers end-to-end logistics. Ocean freight, customs, warehousing, last mile, LTL — all under one roof.

Amazon now offers end-to-end logistics. Ocean freight, customs, warehousing, last mile, LTL — all under one roof. They delivered 6.1 billion packages in 2024. FedEx and UPS already lost market share. Now they're coming for the 3PL industry too. Genuine question, do you think Amazon can kill traditional 3PLs or is there still room for them?

Hey everyone, If it's your first time reading one of my posts, I break down the top logistics news from the past week, so you're always up to date. Let's jump into it, # Amazon just declared war on the entire transportation industry Yesterday was a brutal day to own transportation stocks. FedEx fell as much as 10%, its worst single-day drop in over a year. UPS fell a similar amount. GXO and Forward Air both shed double digits. The S&P 500 Transportation Index, which had been flirting with all-time highs recently after recovering from Iran-war jitters, got absolutely taken apart. The trigger: Amazon announced it is opening its logistics network to outside business...
