We just got back from China. We had booked Lijiang to Jakarta via Chengdu Tianfu on Air China with a transit of 17 hours. Ticket was issued with 999 in front. We'd planned to go out to visit the pandas during the transit time. Upon checking in at Lijiang they printed bag tags for Jakarta and 2 boarding passes. Checkin lady then picked up the phone and called someone and then ripped everything up, gave us tickets to Chengdu and said that Chengdu doesn't offer transit facility and we'd have to collect bags and re-checkin the following day.
