I've purchased $80+ Apollo Chocolates before the announcement of the japan post international mail out of service (EMS, Airmail, and Surface shipping). I wasn't aware prior not until I tried to ship it, only having the parcel canceled due to restricted items. Having only UPS, FEDEX, DHL, and ZenExpress left, and none of them can be used for shipping foods like chocolate ZM said (Google says otherwise). I am running out of storage days. Either abandon the Chocolates or pay daily storage fee after 60 days of free storage (who's to say when Canada Post is gonna get their shi working with the ongoing strike). Is there no other way?

I recently placed an order for some incense intended to forward to USA through Rakuten Global Express. There was originally an option for US shipping (most premium) since Japan Posts has suspended USA shipments. However I was informed that incense can be considered a prohibited item by their carrier. Has anyone had a sucessful experience shipping incense from Japan, and which carrier did you use? E.g. DHL, FedEx or UPS? I want to suggest that carrier to Rakuten so I can get my products, which are worth a few hundred dollars. Otherwise I may have to ask the shopkeepers to receive back the items for a refund.

This is my experience using animate.shop TL;DR: My preorder arrived in the USA in October 2025. DHL told me I had to pay duty fees to get my package from animate international. I sent an express package with Poste Italiane to Osaka, Japan, from Bergamo Italy on September 22, 2025. The package arrived in Japan on September 27, but was never delivered. The postal service website indicates that the package is available for collection at the foreign operator's office. No delivery attempt was made. We don't know where the foreign operator's office is: we searched the post offices in Osaka without success because the tracking number issued by Poste Italiane isn't listed at Japan Post. Hi, We are currently travelling around Japan for a few weeks and to keep our luggage weight down we shipped a parcel of gifts home from Gotokuji post office in Tokyo to Australia. It originally shipped ok but now is saying "returned to sender" on the Japan Post website and that it is currently at Tokyo International Post Office. I bought an item from Japan, and the seller says they can't ship it because Japan Post has suspended all parcel services (EMS, Air, Surface) to Canada. I know the big nationwide CUPW strike ended around October 10th/11th, and it's now just rotating/local strikes. My seller is pointing to the Japan Post website, which seems to have an old notice from early October about the *nationwide* strike and hasn't updated it. Is anyone else dealing with this? The only other shipping options (like DHL/FedEx) are way too expensive. Has anyone found a way to contact Japan Post from Canada to ask for an update? Their website is hard to navigate for international inquiries.

Hi All, I've bought 3 packages which are sitting in the warehouse right now. They are less than 2kg each, so I'm currently eligible for the registered small package (AIR) shipping option, which seems to be the best option if they are shipped separately. The items are anime figures in their boxes, which should be \~5-10 cms and \~0.5kgs less than the packages they are in right now, so they seem to be packed tightly already. Everything was nicely packaged in a sturdy box and arrived without damages. The last seamail package I have, took less than 2 months, fastest seamail I had so far. Sadly Japan Post stop sending to US and can’t utilize it now.
