Japan Post (日本郵政公社 Nippon Yūsei Kōsha) was a government-owned corporation in Japan, that existed from 2003–2007, offering postal and package delivery services, banking services, and life insurance. It had over 400,000 employees and ran 24,700 post offices throughout Japan and was the nation's largest employer. One third of all Japanese government employees worked for Japan Post. As of 2005, the president of the company was Masaharu Ikuta, formerly chairman of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. Japan Post ran the world's largest postal savings system and was often said to be the largest holder of personal savings in the world: with ¥224 trillion ($2.1 trillion) of household assets in its yū-cho savings accounts and ¥126 trillion ($1.2 trillion) of household assets in its kampo life insurance services, its holdings account for 25 percent of household assets in Japan. Japan Post also held about ¥140 trillion (one fifth) of the Japanese national debt in the form of government bonds. On October 1, 2007 Japan Post was privatized following fierce political debate that was settled by the 2005 general election. After the privatization, the Japan Post Group companies operate the postal business. Later in 2010, the privatization was put on hold, and the Japanese Ministry of Finance remains the 100% shareholder. On October 26, 2012, the Japanese government unveiled plans to list shares of Japan Post Holdings Co, within three years to raise money for reconstructing areas devastated by last year's earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis.

However, when it vomes to withdrawing money, it is not allowed to do so. I have sufficient funds. I have checked the settings of the Wise app and the default withdrawal limit is high. I have also done a PIN transaction to “activate” the card. Tried Family Mart, Japan Post and Lopia ATMs. Still vannot withdraw. Anyone who has the same problem and was able to solve it? I’ve done some searching and it seems that some post offices are open to collect parcels from and some others are open for normal business. The website for the Kanda post office states that its ‘post window’ is open on the weekend. Does this mean I can arrange for surface mail postage of a parcel or is it just to drop off items that are already stamped? On Discontinued Small Packets (Airmail)4d agoDidn't see a discussion here about the changes in shipping and thought I'd post something since merch is an important part of the community. This is just a random discussion post. Last month I saw that Japan Post decided to discontinue Airmail. I noticed on GeekJack they also had an announcement for it (first image), saying they will have to charge additional fees for orders already placed. I noticed that with EMS now, shipping cost has basically doubled for things that used to be small packets (not counting taxes and duties). The HoloPro store has a fixed rate at about 25 euros for EU, but individual items are about 10-20% more expensive. Overall, costs are now comparable as the... It took japan post 10 days (10!!!) After collection to ship them, finally on november 27. It's now december 24 and still no sign of them, it was sent via air mail registered (which doesn't track past japan) usually they get to my door in less than 2 weeks I never had this occur to me, is it normal?
