Did a lot of shopping in Japan. Exceeded luggage capacity by 20 kgs and extra luggage by Thai Airways is costing around ₹80,000. Even though there is 72 hours remaining for the flight. Thinking of packing the old things and sending a parcel from Osaka to Kolkata via Japan Post. Worried if there would be customs to be paid on it since all of them are old things like hoodies, shoes, and T-shirts.

Hello, I juste moved to Japan recently for a WH visa and I would like to buy a PS5. The thing is that when I tried to buy the Japanese Editionat Bic Camera but I needed a phone number because I had to register on their app. Is there any shop where you can buy it without too much hassle ? I tried Amazon but got the same problem as Bic Camera and from what I've seen, I might need to wait a week to get a phone number and probably the same for a bank account a Japan Post Bank. I'll buy a regular one as I did search a bit and most people don't recommend it on the sub. Thank you for your help !

Hello everyone, I hope it is okay to ask this here. Japan Post informed me that a small personal parcel of mine is currently stored at Shin-Fukuoka Post Office and will only be kept until March 23, after which it may be destroyed. I am the original sender, but I am currently in the Netherlands and cannot travel to Japan myself. At this moment I am only looking to speak with someone local to understand whether collecting the parcel and resending it to the Netherlands could be possible. Right by where the package number and and status labels are located it also mentions the shipping cost. In Japan for a study exchange, and had problems with my credit card when arriving, so I opened an account with the help of the uni in panic, but never received a credit card or bankbook, and since I solved my credit card problem, didn't pay any mind. I know I'm supposed to close the account before leaving the country, but you need either the credit card or the bankbook, but I can't reissue them in time (especially since it's only for closing an account...). Hi, when I was in Japan, I sent an EMS parcel containing a bunch of my clothing to my home address back in the UK through Japan Post. I put that the compensation should it get lost as over €500 which would mean that I would’ve most likely paid custom charges once the parcel had arrived to UK customs. Anyway, my parcel was lost and can not be located. It has been almost 2 months. Parcel force told me to speak with Japan Post but but the problem is I have no idea on how to get in touch with them from the UK. I also do not speak Japanese. Does anyone know what I should do? I'm moving out of Japan in a few months and I need to send some stuff back to the US that won't fit in my suitcases. Japan post is obviously out, so I'm looking at Yamato Transport because I live in rural Hokkaido and we don't have DHL or FedEx offices out here. When I made a purchase it said the shipping would either be EMS or DHL. I assumed DHL based on the new rules from Japan - packages to the U.S. must be gifts, not commercial purchase, under $100 for EMS / Japan post to be used. The seller used EMS. How is that possible? Been looking at some reddit posts about the site to make sure it's legit and looks like it is. My main concern are any additional unforeseen fees that could/would pop up.
