What is AustraliaPost Australia EMS provides postal services in Australia and its overseas territories. "Australia EMS" is the trading name, Australian Postal Corporation (formerly the Australian Postal Commission) is the Australian Government-owned entity responsible for the services. Australia EMS operates in three core markets: letters and associated services; agency services and retail merchandise; and parcels and logistics that span both domestic and international markets. Australia EMS collects, processes and distributes letters for the entire Australian community and between Australia and other countries overseas. It also offers bulk mail delivery services for businesses and community organisations and provides research, advice, consumer list rental, and profiling and segmentation services to help businesses target their objectives and customers, along with other associated services. While postal services of letters and parcels are one of the original areas of Australia EMS, it has also diversified its operations into the provision of other services including agency services, business-to-business integration and logistics and supply chain management. The basic postage rate for a small letter has increased over the years due to inflation but influenced in recent years by a complex interplay between Australia EMS's monopoly over small items, and need to provide service to all Australian addresses at the mandated basic rate. In July 2009, Australia EMS requested the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to approve a stamp price rise in 2010 to 60 cents but the ACCC declined the approval of the price rise, however in April 2010, Australia EMS resubmitted the proposed postal stamp rise. The ACCC approved this request on 28 May 2010 and it was published in the Government Gazette on 9 June 2010. In December 2013, due to the heavy decline in mail usage due to competition from email, etc., Australia EMS requested an increase in the base rate to 70c. More Wikipedia

Customs Clearance help

68d ago

I'm hoping someone can share their experience with this. My parcel is in customs at the moment and I fully expect to be paying some import tax since it's over $1000. It's my first time buying something from overseas that's over $1k that's being sent by EMS. It was sent from Denmark by PostNord and will be handed over to auspost. The postnord tracking is showing an extra latest update (photo 2) that the Auspost tracking isn't. Does this mean PostNord will be contacting me to settle the customs fee? Or what else can this mean? I've had experience with FedEx and the process was done and cleared within a few hours, so I'm just starting to feel kinda anxi...

AusPost Express (EMS) to USPS in USA - Package "Held at Facility in Miami" for 1 Week

110d ago

Hi everyone, hoping for some insight or similar experiences. I recently sent a package from Australia to the USA via AusPost Express International (which uses EMS Express). The package contains multiple art prints (flat, paper) and two small enamel pins. I declared it as a "Gift", and the packing slip lists each item and value. Currently, the status has been stuck on "Held at Facility, MIAMI, FL" for exactly one week now. Neither myself or the recipient (in the USA) has received any email, letter, or notification from USPS, US Customs (CBP), or anyone else requesting action, or providing a reason. Is this kind of delay common at Miami for EMS packages, even with...

Need some good advice on how long this will take..

168d ago

I’ve got a registered express parcel coming from Spain to WA (Australia), tracking number RF322025400ES. It’s been moving fairly quickly until recently. As of 27 May, 12:07 PM, the last update was: “The shipment has left the international logistics centre of origin and is en route to its destination” My package is a expensive Strawberry Switchblade vinyl... It’s now 28 May, 5:05 PM AWST and there’s been no further updates, and not even an arrival scan into Australia. It hasn’t shown up in AusPost tracking either. This is express shipping via Correos Spain (I believe it's EMS or Priority Mail), and I urgently need it to arrive by tomorrow (29 May) if possible. Has anyo...

Should I refund her?

184d ago

This girl who bought from me who had a successful delivery 6 months ago just reached out to me now to let me know she never got her parcel. Not only am I confused on why she took so long but apparently when she tries to click on the tracking number it doesn't show that the parcel has delivered? Does the Aus post tracking number expire? I never forget to post my parcels so l'm really confused I genuinely don't have the goods with me so l'm concerned on what steps to take next - and if I should refund her.. Context: For most of my buyers when they receive or don't receive a parcel they let me know and I've never had an instance where a parcel just disappears - I ...

Is my parcel with AU customs? Or some place else?

192d ago

This is an EMS priority item from India to Sydney. It looks like it landed here in Sydney, but AusPost say it's not in their network, and it doesn't look like it's with AU customs (or it was?). I can't seem to figure out what stage it's at. I contacted Auspost and the sender, but if it's not in auspost network then they're no help. It hasn't moved for a week. Any ideas?

Australia post is is forcing all employees to switch to specific devices at their own cost, is this legal?

246d ago

Is it legal for a workplace to force ALL their employees to purchase a new specific device due to their own system change. My mate has been working with them for the last decade without issue. With the woes of Australia post restructuring and recent failure of management, in their "wisdom" they are now changing the policy for the employees to now switch to an apple device, be it an iphone or macbook. According to the management of the local depot in victoria, this policy apparently stemmed from Auspost transitioning their internal operating system to iOS based programs, messaging and location tracking. Now this policy was broadcasted over the depot's speakers stating that...

How do I take down my neighbour’s landlords in his memory

EDIT: Paragraphs have been fixed! I wrote it on my notes app bc Reddit kept crashing and it obliterated any formatting I had. Hopefully it’s easier to read now! Ok this is a DOOZY. It’s long and drawn out and could probably work better on r/advice or something. But I have a feeling you guys will enjoy and know what to do. Let me tell you about these psychopaths from the depths of ****. I’ve lived in my home for 5 years in the inner west of Melbourne. The house was pretty much derelict when I moved in and I funnelled a lot of my time and money into DIY and now I’m very proud of the little home I’ve created. My street is very cute and the populace is either young family or e...

My parcel was delivered to a completely wrong address, whilst needing to be signed for.

343d ago

Edit: Thank you for everybody's responses! The package was delivered to the correct address 20mins ago. Basically, the driver decided to drop my package off at some random's house yesterday. I called them today (20+min wait time, felt awesome /s), and the package was picked up from wherever the **** it was left, and brought to my house. So this time it ended well! The people who signed for it thankfully didn't open the box up, and seemingly realised pretty quick that it didn't belong to them. Hello wonderful people! I hope you can help ease my rampant anxiety. I've been waiting for a package from Japan, via EMS, and noticed via the AusPost app that the parcel was ...

Customs Held My Package From Australia using Auspost to EMS (New Update)

351d ago

Hey everyone, I received a tracking update for a gift I’m getting from a client abroad, and I’m trying to make sense of it. The tracking says: https://preview.redd.it/fqxhtmk8kc3e1.png?width=714&format=png&auto=webp&s=2e45dffcb14ed6f3a7e98510cdc36aab4bb8a0f7 **Returned from Customs (CUSTOMS STATUS: Import authorized, taxes and/or duties to be paid) – 27/11/2024 8:50:49 am – PHILIPPINES** And then there’s another note: **Returned from Customs (CUSTOMS STATUS: Import authorized, no taxes or duties to be paid)** Does this mean the package is ready for delivery? Or is there something I need to do or pay before it gets here? If anyone has experienced some...

How does USPS Categorize speed of service for incoming international parcels?

371d ago

To the mods: I’m NOT asking about a specific package, or tracking, or trying to get help for anything. I’m just curious how things work behind the scenes. I’m not here to pester anybody. Please don’t remove my post! I’m curious how USPS categorizes incoming international parcels for speed of service once they get transferred to USPS. I imagine incoming mail marked as “EMS” by the sending country will get treated as Priority Mail Express (USPS’s EMS offering), but what about non-EMS classes of mail? For example, in addition to “international express” (which I imagine is their EMS offering) [Australia Post](https://auspost.com.au/sending/parcels-overseas) offers “interna...

Is GD-EMS the only good option for Aus?

584d ago

I've seen GD EMS recommended as the best AU line a few times but I see hauls from the auspost and sea packet as well. Is sea packet risky/worth waiting for and is auspost line A/B reliable?

Is anybody else experiencing delays with Auspost interstate shipping to Perth?

602d ago

Waiting on a package delivered by EMS from outside Australia. Completed customs clearance 6 days ago (supposedly) in Sydney and was transferred to Auspost on the same day. However, the status of my parcel on Mypost has been stuck on "ready for processing, shipping info received by Auspost" ever since it was transferred, with no updates in between. Is anybody else experiencing the same issue? I'm aware that there are floods going on currently but shouldn't my parcel have gotten scanned into the system at least? I'm worried that Auspost hasn't even received the parcel yet.

AusPost is as bad as ever in late 2023

744d ago

I wanted to post something about this because AusPost really haven't lifted their game at all this year. So, if this post even gets one other person to stop using the joke that is AusPost, then mission accomplished. As aussies, if we keep letting Australia Post get away with this nonsense, we're gonna regret it later (****, I think we regret it now). **Express Post -** *Still not achieving 'next business day' despite advertising it.* I'm sure it will surprise no one to know that despite Australia Post somewhat recently reinstating their 'Next Business Day' express post service to supposedly actually be 'next business day...
