I sent a parcel to Germany on Tuesday the 24th through the local post office. I paid for insurance and was given a tracking number on the receipt. When I check the tracking number online, nothing shows up at all, not even that it was accepted or scanned at the post office. It’s like the number doesn’t exist. Shouldn’t there at least be a scan showing it was received at the post office? Or is it normal for tracking not to update straight away? Just trying to figure out if this is standard? I contacted an post chat and they have no information on this tracking number either and directed me to fill out a lost package form! Inside this Romeo Void EP I bought in Seattle I discovered a press kit for the band. It looks like it was sent to the now-defunct 92.5 FM KZAM by legendary radio exec/activist Howie Klein, who just passed away last Christmas Eve ('25). So cool to see how excited he is to promote the band with a single that would also become a classic. Not to mention this was dated Dec. 1, 1981... a decade before grunge would change Seattle forever. I love finding this kind of stuff. It was just tucked in the jacket. Today this would be an e-mail and a link. RIP Howie Klein.

An Post will no loger provide International Registered post for anything that are not documents. They do provide their more expensive service 'insured delivery' for goods internationally. Also their 'insured delivery' minimum size is 'packet'. This means that if you were sending a 200g large envelope by Registered Post (that contains something other than documents) the priced will go from €12.70 to €16.00 (for zone 2 destinations). Even a zone 2 'packet' will go from €13.80 to €16.00 Of course this is not a 'price hike', it's just a 'change of policy'.

Recently I noticed when I returned a few NVME drives ( 2TB and 4TB high value) through their pay and refund return option, packages are going missing. AnPost side is showing that the package is being sent internationally, RoyalMail shows Item received at Ireland and Item Leaving Overseas then no updates. Non-NVME and other items are reaching the return center. It looks as if someone is stealing such packages during border transit. Has anyone experienced the same with your returns?

Hi all, I was expecting an Amazon parcel today via An Post. I received the An Post email & text message yesterday to confirm my parcel will be delivered today. Nothing yet and my Amazon tracking hasn't updated so far today. Yesterday evening, the tracking said it had arrived at Dublin Parcel Hub. Anyone ever had any similar experiences?

Longtime lurker, but too embarrassed to post. But New Year’s resolution is to understand our finances better. Other half is very risk averse and a put it in a bank acc and have it for emergencies person. To be fair we have had a few big unexpected bills recently which we have safely covered due to this but I want our money to work for us. I did set up a long term children’s investment savings fund via a financial planer two years ago but that’s it. I don’t even fully understand that as I’m not sure how we add to it outside of the monthly direct debit without going through him or if we can….my fault not theirs.
