Just saw a breakdown for funeral costs and I’m actually floored. I’m genuinely curious how people manage it. Is everyone just sitting on a massive "rainy day" fund, or is it a case of everyone having a policy with the Credit Union or An Post? You can send offers, like 2 games per 1, etc, no money involved, just trading. It covers PS5, PS4, Xbox, and older consoles too. I had several packages now returned to me from America with stickers on them claiming the tariff hasn't been paid. Now it's my understanding that an post is supposed to email the buyer some sort of payment portal to pay the tariff but my customers are reporting they haven't gotten any emails from an post. Am I wrong about how this works?

I may just be an unlucky sort (the FBR, btw, was wonderful, they appear to have a department that deals with these things) but I used an envelope like this and it arrived to FBR- open. I was sent a list of everything that was received (thankfully, I had put everything in plastic jackets inside) and all appeared in order, down to the business card of my witness and my photos so hopefully, it was just a machine snagging on the top of it or something. Sent April 1, An Post noted delivered April 10, and two emails - that it was received, then another re: it being open that listed the entire contents that were in it, were dated yesterday. Fingers crossed.

Saw my package was delivered at 7.20am this morning and no sign of it, then an hour later I receive an An Post text message that ‘item will be delivered next working day’. Followed up with the chat and was shown a delivery photograph asking if it was my address (it wasn’t). Now told to wait for them to investigate. With Eircode I can’t really understand how this is possible, are they just generally rubbish these days or just an isolated occurrence of a bad postman? Had this happen back before Xmas and ended up having to chase the sender for refund.

I ordered an item from Ireland to Canada, it took a full week to update after the seller handed the package off and it’s just said this since, it says to track through the receiving post but I wasn’t given any information. The estimated delivery window was the 7th to the 20th, now it’s the 20th still nothing. I tried to contact an post through their site but any links just didn’t work. Is an post just terrible with updates or should I be wondering if the seller even sent my order?

Has anyone gotten a credit card from an post? It's saying delivery within 7-10 business days which seems quite long. Have they just overshot in case something goes wrong? Anyone have experience with this, how long did it take? Thanks! Update in case anyone needs this in the future - was delivered on Thursday after being approved Monday of the same week.
