An Post is the state-owned provider of postal services in the Republic of Ireland. An Post provides a "universal postal service" to all parts of the country as a member of the Universal Postal Union. Services provided include letter post, parcel service, deposit accounts, Express Post (an all-Ireland next-day delivery service), and EMS (international express-mail service). An Post, the Irish postal administration, came into being in 1984 when, under the terms of the Postal & Telecommunications Services Act of 1983, the Post Office services of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs (P&T) were divided between An Post and Telecom Éireann, the telecommunications operator now called Eir. At its inception, during the early years of the Irish Free State, the Department of Posts and Telegraphs was the country's largest department of state, and its employees (most of them postmen) constituted the largest sector of the civil service.

After nearly 2 years dealing with this whole process and failing the driving test twice before finally passing, now the licence itself still hasn’t arrived. I already contacted NDLS and they told me to wait until tomorrow before requesting a replacement, but I’m worried it may have been lost by An Post. Has this happened to anyone else recently? When it arrived in Ireland it was with an post for around 10 days so I inquired through their WhatsApp support chat. "This item failed to clear Irish customs due to an error on the electronic customs declaration. It cannot be delivered and must be returned to sender. This is beyond the control of An Post. Please contact the sender regarding this item." No option to pay any customs fee if there is an additional charge. No option to update the package info. Just returned. The Etsy shop has told me the courier they use don't return long distance packages like that, instead will destroy it and claim the value back throug... My question is other than pensions, is there anywhere or anyway I can put my money somewhere and just leave it? I'm very risk adverse I would much prefer to just leave my money and forget it. Die Sendung ist heute angekommen, Code aber nicht (Post-app, email). Thalia sagt ich soll mich an die Post wenden. Das kanns doch nicht sein, dass ich selbst bei der Post anrufen und die 22-stellige Sendungsnummer durchgeben muss, damit ich zu meinem Abholcode komme. Ich hatte das Problem schon letztes Jahr, da dachte ich noch an einen Einzelfall, aber anscheinend ist das der Normalzustand. Wie sind eure Erfahrungen damit? First time Irish passport dispatched2d agoFirst time passport processed quicker than the expected date, did call the office and tell them I'm flying on the 16th of June and they might have expedited it delighted anyways was abit worried with all the posts on here people having to cancel trips and the fact that there's delays on first time passports and I was expecting my trip to not go ahead for anyone seeing all the posts about delays etc just apply with all the documents properly and fingers crossed you won't miss your trip and it'll be as smooth of a process as mine.
