An Post is the state-owned provider of postal services in the Republic of Ireland. An Post provides a "universal postal service" to all parts of the country as a member of the Universal Postal Union. Services provided include letter post, parcel service, deposit accounts, Express Post (an all-Ireland next-day delivery service), and EMS (international express-mail service). An Post, the Irish postal administration, came into being in 1984 when, under the terms of the Postal & Telecommunications Services Act of 1983, the Post Office services of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs (P&T) were divided between An Post and Telecom Éireann, the telecommunications operator now called Eir. At its inception, during the early years of the Irish Free State, the Department of Posts and Telegraphs was the country's largest department of state, and its employees (most of them postmen) constituted the largest sector of the civil service.

She applied for Jobseeker's Pay Related benefit and got approved while she's applying for jobs alongside but the job market is tight as we all know. Nevertheless, she keeps applying daily. We had plans to visit her parents even before she got the news about redundancy and had made bookings and all that stuff. My question is if she's away for two weeks and cannot collect her payment and inform the DSP as well before leaving, would she get those two weeks paid when she's back? Can I or someone else collect the payment on her behalf? ... Was it a mistake and amazon meant it was delivered to Ireland by DHL to then be given to An Post or did DHL deliver it to the wrong place. Is An Post tracking limited to within Ireland and stops once the post arrived in the delivery country or does lack of tr...2d agoOn December 23rd, 2025 I sent important notarized documents to the Federal Office of Justice in Germany for a police certificate, but never heard back. Checking the tracking on the An Post website today, it ends on December 30th and says "Your item is being sorted by the receiving post". Does this mean the package got lost in Germany and never made it to the final delivery address or does it mean that An Post usually stops tracking once the item left Ireland? Is this normal for An Post tracking and just means tracking stops once it arrived in the delivery country itself or whether it means it never arrived at the final address? Is An Post tracking limited to within Ireland and stops once the post arrived in the delivery country?2d agoDo An Post always do this with parcels?2d agoI very, very rarely get a straighforward parcel *delivery f*rom An Post, unlike all other carriers. Instead, I get this, as received in email: *'We attempted to deliver item xxxxxxxx on xx-Jan-2026 xxxx. The item is available for collection as per the notice left at the delivery address.'* (My x's). The proposed collection point is the local post parcel depot, who usually will have it, and are usually friendly and civil, unlike on this occasion where we got a snotty 'not here now pfo' response. We have a doorbell camera set to show (reliably) when there's someone at the doorstep, not just when they've pressed the buzzer. Nothing there. No note in evidence... October 2024 : At 27yo, male, after multiple months of on/off fever, night sweats and some anemia I was diagnosed too late of infectious endocarditis. I underwent open heart surgery in end of October 2024. Following a 1month recovery/training in a dedicated center I could resume my life. March 2025 : Mid march I caught a respiratory virus of some sort (prob cov19 or else). I continued practising. End of March I began to suffer from huge positional chest pain, mild fever.
