An Post is the state-owned provider of postal services in the Republic of Ireland. An Post provides a "universal postal service" to all parts of the country as a member of the Universal Postal Union. Services provided include letter post, parcel service, deposit accounts, Express Post (an all-Ireland next-day delivery service), and EMS (international express-mail service). An Post, the Irish postal administration, came into being in 1984 when, under the terms of the Postal & Telecommunications Services Act of 1983, the Post Office services of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs (P&T) were divided between An Post and Telecom Éireann, the telecommunications operator now called Eir. At its inception, during the early years of the Irish Free State, the Department of Posts and Telegraphs was the country's largest department of state, and its employees (most of them postmen) constituted the largest sector of the civil service.

Untracked Parcel?15h agoHi, I bought a small item on eBay and the seller shipped via untracked post. That was not agreed beforehand btw; had I known that that was the intention, I would’ve paid for tracked mail, as the item is actually quite rare to find. According to eBay the item was shipped on 6/01 and unfortunately it hasn’t arrived yet. I asked the seller for more details on the shipping, but I’m still awaiting response. I know I’ve not being scammed because this account has excellent reviews; I believe it’s not a professional seller, just someone selling one item every few weeks, hence the delay in responding. I haven't done any online shopping recently, and am not waiting on anything. Only thing I think it could be is a parcel that went missing when Fastway went bust. I was refunded for that by the retailer, so be interesting if that's what it is. Though would have thought all Fastways deliveries would have been taken over by another courier, and would have all been well delivered at this stage. Anyway, shall find out Monday! And, no, it's not a scam, its the offical An Post sms service and website.
