well not really no amazon, but from a few thousand on sunday week in week out to a few hundred office wide. so obviously whats the point? idk how much postage we are getting from amz per package , but no way is the post office not losing money having 2 city regulars and a rural ptf drive around the zip code for 8 hours delivering 100 parcels each. we would literally be adding like 10 pkgs per route if we just pushed them back to monday and took sunday off. i assume we are contractually obliged to deliver sunday regardless of volume but jeez the post office is impressively good at getting itself into ways to lose money

So I recently signed up with Relay as a courier… and wow. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. The pay is absolute dogshit. Sure, they throw the occasional “surge” at you to keep you hopeful, but then you get hit with something like 50 drops for £38. 50 stop of £38 😭😭 At that point I’m basically paying them to work. And the time it takes? Unreal. Every stop needs two photos—one of you handing the parcel to the customer like you’re posing for a yearbook photo, and another of their house number. Everyone talks about the academics and brand, but no one tells you how unorganised things actually are. Academically, it often feels chaotic — last-minute schedule changes, no clarity on timelines, and “convenience” is never an option. You’re expected to adjust to everything, even when the system itself is unclear or disorganized. And then there’s the location, which is honestly the biggest headache. I ordered 2 items on the 10th november which i received in 1 box. As for the driver he forgot to take a pic then came back & took it again after ive opened & ruined packaging. I asked if hes new he said its first day which i understood & said all the best dont worry about it. Following this, on the same day in the evening a random man turns up to my door looking around everywhere i got suspicious thinking whos this he has no parcel to deliver so spoke from the window. Unsure if this is just in my local area but the only delivery slots offered now are 7 am - 2 pm and 2 pm - 9 pm. There used to be additional smaller (but more expensive) slots throughout the day, including something like 6 pm - 10 pm which was handy with work. This was something they had over Amazon etc for me, now I will go elsewhere because I’m rarely at home for 7 hours straight, and Royal Mail/other couriers are usually happy to leave parcels if I’m not in. Hope this isn’t happening everywhere!

I had a feeling someone was going to complain as the weather was awful due to the storm. just rang Amazon and they confirmed it was due to a complaint I have received. Is it just my impression or are workers in Australia completely demotivated and not caring about quality of service they deliver? I notice that in retail, food/parcel delivery services, customer service, reception desks and in general everywhere. Examples would be Woolworths deliveries always got something wrong/missing/broken. Amazon deliveries every now and then get dropped off to wrong address. Food orders got missing items or arrived damaged. I assume that low wages and awareness that it’s very unlikely to get anywhere in this economy by doing simple jobs sadly killed any work ethics.

Hello Flex community. I am lately having trouble as our depot has changed shift times and this has resulted in my being out later than normal delivering. This has caused a few incidents with customers appearing confused, irritated, or hostile when finding me at their door. The older generation (boomers) seem to believe that deliveries don’t come later than dinner time. This is so absurd as to be laughable. But the confusion and irritation of these customers again and again grates away at me. Amazon hasn’t yet thought it worth their time to implement an auto text messaging system to alert their customers of their driver’s imminent arrival.
