I'm thinking about getting a driving job in Edinburgh. I could really use some guidance on how the different kind of driving jobs work. Any help or advice is welcome! Basically, I'm attracted to the freedom and flexibility. I want to work the days and hours I want to work (Mon-Thurs, maybe the occasional Sunday), and I only want to earn enough money to keep up my current lifestyle (about £2000 a month). I'm not looking to get rich or anything like that. I want to have a good work-life balance as much free time as possible. Ideally, I'd like to work three and a half days. Maybe with two long days, one normal day, and one shorter day. So, what would be the best option ...

Been having some stinker of a route last few days one from dxn1 and one from dha2 very time consuming and took the full time of the block🫩 Has anyone noticed that from our depots parcel intake has gone to like a consistent 45 parcels per block but I don’t see anything surging. They be giving 10 overflow per cage and it’s non existent to get a block that has surged. I guess I’ll be taking base all Christmas with the way things are going. Amazon have pumped at least 500 drivers into this region cuz im seeing rates drop below base 3 hours was going for £46.50 the other day

Why does OCD have to go after everything that could give me any scrap of joy?!? I ordered a few treats for myself on amazon, nothing special just pampering things. The instant they arrived the thoughts started - if you use that, that awful thing you've been scared of will happen! - if you wear that you'll get sick! - don't eat that, [insert worst fear] will happen!! I’m sure everyone will agree with this but its posted more for my own records and accountability - I am establishing some ground rules to preserve my mental health while delivering with Amazon, especially after a shitshow today to kick off Black Friday week. 1. I shall work on all routes at my own consistent steady pace - Amazon is supposed to factor in 1.5 hour break time into the routes anyway, so a driver missing their breaks, essentially breaching road safety by rushing around and cutting corners is NOT doing the job properly how it is meant to be done. Now I don't want to assume it's been stolen but the driver couldn't find my parcel on his van. I had an Evri parcel be stolen a few days ago so I'm abit anxious with this. I was due 2 parcels today and one had a OTP, driver showed up passed me the first parcel and I said I am waiting for another so off he went to his van and he came back a few moments later saying he couldn't find it he would be back later if he did. I contacted Amazon and they said the driver told them he didn't collect it from the warehouse. My question is - can a parcel be left at the warehouse if it's already been out for delivery with a time window? Does it not need to be scanned ...

well not really no amazon, but from a few thousand on sunday week in week out to a few hundred office wide. so obviously whats the point? idk how much postage we are getting from amz per package , but no way is the post office not losing money having 2 city regulars and a rural ptf drive around the zip code for 8 hours delivering 100 parcels each. we would literally be adding like 10 pkgs per route if we just pushed them back to monday and took sunday off. i assume we are contractually obliged to deliver sunday regardless of volume but jeez the post office is impressively good at getting itself into ways to lose money
